Heavy Vehicle Technician

Due to on-going growth within the Truck Workshop, A position is currently available within the Dealerships HCV Service Department, for a suitably qualified "Heavy Vehicle Technician". The successful applicant must be self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, well presented and work to a high standard.

APPLICANTS TO DEMONSTRATE

  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Driven and focused on loyalty.
  • Workmanship to a High Standard.
  • Being fluent with the English language.
  • Ensure attention to detail in maintained.
  • Ability to assist others where necessary.
  • Ability to follow instruction
  • To provide "On-the-job Training" for apprentices.
  • Prepared to work overtime and share a rotational breakdown roster.
  • Report and work closely with the service manager
  • Be a team player and adapt to a strong leadership role  
     

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent Time Management Skills.
  • Excellent skills within diagnosis equipment/ software
  • Sound computer skills of all programs
  • Diagnosis skills
  • Excellent  Communication Skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong background within the Heavy Transport Industry.
  • Ability to Process Paperwork & ensure Accurate Record Keeping.
  • Previous Experience within the Commercial Vehicle industry is essential.
  • Being qualified in the Trade with a Minimum of 3 to 5 Years' Experience.
  • Uphold a current Driver's Licence, HR and forklift an advantage
  • Proficient in Removing, Repairing, Adjusting, Overhauling, Assembling, Disassembling, replacing Major/Sub-Assemblies, Components and Parts.
  • Sound knowledge of systems such as, Power and Drive Trains, Electrical, Air Conditioning, Fuel Systems, Emission, Brakes, Steering and Hydraulics.
  • Ability to complete machine shop operations, being Adjustments and Alignments, including Bearing Loads, Gear Tooth Contact, Valve Mechanisms, Governors, Oil Systems, Control Linkages, Clutches, and Traction Units.
